I loved getting to photograph this couple! They wanted to capture some shots for their Christmas card and I was more than happy to oblige. Uptown Charlotte always provides a great backdrop and it didn’t disappoint yesterday!

You got to meet sweet Nathan a few weeks ago – now it’s time to meet the whole family! Kyle & Lora are my sweet, sweet neighbors and I was so excited to get the chance to photograph them!! Kyle is a pastor of a church here in Charlotte, so when talking about locations for their fall session, he and Lora decided the church grounds would be the perfect spot for them. I totally agree!! The location was gorgeous, the family is beautiful…great morning!

Oh, friends. I adore this little boy. His little smiles totally light up my day! He just so happens to be my neighbor! So loved getting to spend some time with he and his sweet momma this morning capturing his 6 month photos. Stay tuned – we’re shooting the whole family next month!

It is a rare occasion that my entire sneak peek is in color. I love a good black and white. Could probably shoot an entire session in black and white and love it. But today, I loved all these colors. How they all worked together, and how they just fit this little guy. Meet Tristan! I was fortunate enough to take his sister’s 1 year photos in July and couldn’t wait to meet him! He was an absolutely doll baby and just hung out while I snapped away!

Nothing makes you work for your money like an adorable (almost) 2 year old!! Miss Addison was a trooper this morning as I chased her around an empty field with my camera. Ha! She wanted to explore and that’s exactly what she did. Boots and all! While she explored, we took some time to get some sweet shots of Mom and Dad, too!

If you have known me long at all, you know of my love affair with Sweet Art Cakes. Although I do not get to Rock Hill nearly as often as I would like, I can still taste her amazing peanut butter frosting on top of the delicious chocolate cupcake. It was because of these delicious cupcakes that I was introduced to Tina, mother of my newest senior, Margaret! Margaret is a senior at Northwestern High School and was SO much fun to photograph! We decided to venture around Uptown Charlotte and it made for a very interesting evening!!

I had such a great time at this session! Danny is a senior at Cuthbertson High school and was fabulous to photograph! Most guys tend to be a bit shy in front of the camera, aren’t sure what to do, how to pose or whether or not they should have an opinion. Danny (and his sweet momma!) were amazing. They had ideas and together, the 3 of us pulled off a fab session tonight!

One of the biggest problems in children’s photography is our expectations. We (guilty as charged!) expect our curious, active toddlers to magically sit still and smile for the 30 minutes-1 hour we have them in front of a photographer. 9 times out of 10, that just isn’t going to work. That’s why these are lifestyle sessions. If you truly want to capture your 2 year old showing who they are at 2 years old, it will NOT be them sitting pretty and smiling. Guarantee. So, when Sarah mentioned how much Matthew loved his fire trucks, I knew exactly where to go – the old fire station in Waxhaw! He was happy, doing something he loves to do, and we showcased WHO he is at 2 years old!
I have a feeling they get that look a lot!
